In this internship, I was responsible for representing The University of North Texas at Dallas. This newsletter would cover events and programs
throughout various colleges and universities in Texas. In the second page of this newsletter you can see a section made to introduce me to the newsletter. In the following page, you can see one of the stories I covered and wrote. I learned a lot about writing and working closely with editors.
Below are some flyers that I created to promote events around campus.
"For School Zone Dallas, I'm Ester."
My junior and senior year of high school, I was part of School Zone Dallas; a Dallas ISD student ran news program. Every year the district would choose 8-10 Dallas ISD students from a written and in person audition.
Not only would we create videos like the one here, but we would also get to participate in events such as the annual Martin Luther King Jr. I have a dream speech competition, which I emceed two years in a row. Being part of School Zone Dallas, was such an amazing experience and taught me so much about what it takes to produce something as little as a segment. I learned so many skills that I have been applying to this day, and hope to continue using in the future.
Communication Student Organization
The Communication Student Organization, also known as CSO is an established campus organization at the University of North Texas at Dallas. Founded by myself and three other students, the CSO is an organization dedicated to help student involvement and to provide helpful workshops for students. I served two semesters as president of the organization, in charge of recruiting, and making sure we followed student affair rules and guidelines during any meetings and events.
